Man of the Hour

Summer is here! Thought it would never arrive! Lots of stuff going on, but that is about to change in the next week...(don't have anything to do, but then lifting and open gyms (twice a week) start and go Monday-Thursday all summer beginning June 13th)

I got up at 8:30 on Friday (waaaay to early) then later went to the fields to get my DVD...it's awesome! Then went to Target and spent about 3 hours there. Mom was looking for a whole new wardrobe, I'm assuming. Wendy and I ransacked the whole store...we looked at just about everything there. Then we gave up and went and sat in the comfy chairs under the canopies in the lawn and garden section. Listened to my iPod, of course, and there were these really crazy old people - kinda scary. Don't remember what we did after that, chances are it was nothing too important.

Woke up early on Saturday, too, because we had to go to Lebanon for a dress fitting for my cousin's wedding - we're the ever-prestegious candle lighters! Yay! Left around noon and stopped and ate McDonald's on the way. "We know what you're doing with all that money!" "You're eating McDonald's?!?!" We ended up staying at Norman's for 3 1/2 hours...wasn't all that much fun. Pictures were awesome and so was my book! Then we ate at Applebee's and I'm not gonna even go into detail with that one. Holly dropped us off at our cabin and we got to see Sadie! They had to leave, and then we were down with the Fajah's side of the fam for the rest of the weekend. Always good food! Spent almost all of my time on the dock trying to get a tan...word of advice - if you want to tan, don't wear SPF 30. No good. But then, if I don't, I look like a lobster, and it hurts like no other. No happy-medium. Best story ever...must explain...it might be a bit long, but it makes me laugh and cry! So, Wendy, my aunt, and I are all laying on the dock. I'm wearing this strapless swimsuit top because the dress I have to wear for my cousin's wedding is strapless. When I bought the top, the matching bottoms weren't there, so I'm wearing these red-orange and gold bottoms with this flourescent top. So I'm laying there with my iPod on - can't hear anything - and I had rolled up my t-shirt and put it over my eyes. Pretty soon, I hear my aunt talking and so I sit up and lo and behold, there are three hott, I mean HOTT guys on jet skis at our dock. One of the guys gashed his finger and needed a band-aid. OMG! This guy was sooooooo incredibly hott and he was from Lousiana, Missouri! So I'm all like, "Damn!"...seriously, it was like they were sent from heaven or something. So later, I go inside and I have this huge red sunburn on my neck. WHY ME?!? Crazy story, I know, but you had to be there. Should have gotten his number...

Spent the rest of Monday down there, too, and then came back Monday afternoon. Mom, Wen, Me, Molly and the Fajah all had to ride in his stupid '76 (or whatever year it is) Dodge truck because Mom screwed up his transmission on the car when she drove it to the lake...something about that it didn't shift out of second gear or something? Really stupid. I'm seriously just going to take that truck out and total it so he can't drive it anymore. I hate it!!!

And today would be Tuesday and I woke up really early - 9. Watched Waking Ned Divine last night - I bought it at Target for a mere $5.50. Really cute movie! And yesterday night Canada won Miss Universe...boo-hiss! Mexico or Peru should have won. It's all a big joke. I do have one thing to say, though - cleaning is more fun than going to school! (At least the class part, anyway) This is one of my favorite songs (which I forgot) and it explains a lot. Out for now...

And the road
The old man paved
The broken seams along the way
The rusted signs, left just for me
He was guiding me, love, his own way
Now the man of the hour is taking his final bow
As the curtain comes down
I feel that this is just goodbye for now

Long Road

It's Saturday! And it's almost over :( Had one crazy day! Woke up at noon to Molly jumping on my bed (thanks to Mom letting her in the house, of course) and I luckily avoided a trip to Wally World...thank the Lord! It's a great store and all, but you just have to be in the mood to go. So I stayed home and chilled and ate some Kix at around 1. Then Mom and Wendy came back from the Mart and decided that we needed to go try on shoes for my cousin's wedding at the mall, because they didn't have our sizes at Payless on the Boulevard - bunch of crap if I ever saw it! Mom ends up taking us to Grandma's to drop off clothes for the garage sale, and she ends up planting flowers...go figure. After that, she took us on a detour to the cemetary to fix up my grandpa's grave for Memorial Day, while Wendy looked for golf balls on the golf course right next to the cemetary - she's stupid. Then we went to the mall and I was all T.O.'d because I looked like crap and didn't want to be there...I wanted to be outside, duh! Found the shoes, Hallelujah! Then got Wendy's and went back to g-ma's to eat it. I love my Grandma soooooo much!!! She took her glasses out of the case and put them on and she said she started to get a headache...she finally realized that one eye was missing a lens! This happened a while back, but I still laugh about it...(my grandma is a Catholic, and she didn't mean anything offensive by it, but it is hilarious!) she said, "I was watching the pope's burial ceremony on TV and saw all these security people around, and I was thinking, 'What are they all doing there? He's already dead'"!!! Then she went on to explain that there were all these high-profile people there and all, but she makes me laugh! I love her! Wendy and her and I got into this big discussion about how we had always made fun of her big glasses, but now they're back in style. She went on and on about how she didn't know which ones to wear and Wendy says, "Wear those, they make you look sexy!" :D My fam is the best!

Our continuation ceremony at Simonsen was Friday, and all of our classes were shorter, which was awesome, because I know I couldn't have lasted through all 4 full blocks. Cody and Sam got a referral from Obermiller, and everyone was really mad at him because they didn't even do anything. I'm not gonna say anything about him, other than the fact that he really gets on my nerves. In drama, Aaron came in for his last day as a senior and gave a big, long speech about being in high school and his experiences and advice...made me want to cry! After that we went to the ceremony...fun to get out of class, anyway. The slideshow was really cute, and I even got in some pictures! My mom, Wendy, and I took Sam to Central Dairy and then to his dad's work. "I found a dollar!" Fun times! Played volleyball with Wen and Mom when we got home, and we decided to go to the mall. First we went to Payless on the Boulevard and they didn't have the shoes we needed. >:O So we picked up Wendy's friend Hannah and went and got Lauren. Wendy and Hannah ran wild in the mall, and Lauren persuaded Mom and me to go to Garfields...little did we know what she had up her sleeve. She told them it was her birthday, and of course, it wasn't! "It's in 15 days...that's close enough!" And coloring on table was the best!!! Me: "I LOVE JOSH GROS!!! Ha! You can't cover up black with any other color!" ^Lauren grabs another black crayon and starts scribbling^ FYI: I am going to marry Josh Gros...he is a Major League Soccer player, and the HOTTEST guy that ever lived. He is mine!!! Anyway, had a great night!

And after we got back from G-ma's today, I ran for a bit and then Wendy at I invented a new game. It's called "trash the junkpile" - it's driveway soccer with a twist - it's played with an old, crappy, beat-up volleyball :) and you get more points if you hit Fajah's piece of junk car. Wendy ended up getting 5 points two different times for nailing it. Didn't quite make a dent, but it sounded like it did! We played to 50, and it was pitch dark when we finally got finished. One of the best things in the world? Being outside on a beautiful day and not going in until you can't see anymore!!! One of the best things ever!

And now, it's looking to be editorial time! Oh gosh, I'm gonna hate this. I swore up and down that I would be so glad when school was over. And it's not that I'm not glad that it's almost over, but I'm going to miss being a freshman! Think about it, we had a whole school to ourselves, only had four classes (that's not going to change), got to see people we knew in the hallways, had classes with everyone we knew (pretty much...for me it was a little different, but I will miss it all the same), and we just got to be freshman! Maybe, even if you really dislike something, you become accustomed to it, and when it is gone, there's this emptiness...knowing that you can never go back. And another thing that I've heard, is that when you lose something (someone, in particular, this is really dealing with death, but it can be the same with anything) you will remember the good times more than the bad. Think about something or someone you've lost - you remember the good parts, don't you? They are the first things that come to mind. And I think that this is the same situation I'm in right now...there were so many things that happened that I didn't care for, but all I remember are the good parts (maybe this has to do with my lack of memory, too ;)) So, to me, being a freshman wasn't near as bad as everyone said it would be, and I will miss it.

And I wished for so long
Cannot stay
All the precious moments
Cannot stay
It's not like wings have fallen
Cannot stay
But still something's missing
I cannot say

Holding hands are daughters and sons
And their faiths are falling down
I have wished for so long
How I wish for you today

Will I walk the long road?
Cannot stay
There's no need to say goodbye

All the friends and family
All the memories going round
I have wished for so long
How I wish for you today

And the wind keeps roaring
And the sky keeps turning grey
And the sun is set
The sun will rise another day

I have wished for so long
How I wish for you today

Will I walk the long road?

Give A Little Bit

Just got back from Co-town with Lauren...we shopped about 6 hours, so I'm wiped! Got some cool stuff, though!

What's happened since Tuesday? Your guess is as good as mine right about now. Ah, yes, went to a banquet Tuesday night. I guess Wayne Gretzke's quote fits just about perfectly, "You'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take". I tried!!! Still a bit frusterated, though, shouldn't have happened that way. :( Came home and did homework till an ungodly hour, as far as I can remember.

Had weightlifting on Wednesday, and I honestly don't remember Wednesday at all. BAD MEMORY SUCKS!!! (This is an add-in...wrote this piece after I wrote about Friday, then I remembered Wednesday!) We went on our Civics class field trip. Of course, Obermiller picks the hottest day of the week to go, and everyone is just g-ross. Peter tried to be a good tour guide, but it didn't work. Everyone was hot and mad. Then Megan totally soaked her shirt to cool off, and that was not a bad idea. I opted out, though. Didn't learn anything, don't think I was enlightened in any way, shape, or form, but we didn't have to sit in the classroom, so I guess it was ok.

There was a rumor going around for quite some time that us weightlifters were gonna get pizza on the last day of weightlifting from Coach Salmon. Well, MeAndLauren had other commitments, namely, the Timberland game! So we bailed early, and we didn't get any pizza out of the deal - what a rip. I heard they had sandwiches...sounds like we missed out - not! So Lauren's momma picked us up and we went to Central Dairy..."Hey, we're out eating ice cream...talk on the phone!!!" Chocolate chip cookie dough in a waffle cone...mmmmm! So then we were really early to the game and did some crazy stuff (aka blowing out a speaker) - I swear, it really wasn't us!!! Lauren did hit me in the head with a rock though, and somehow that got us thinkin all the way back to Big Surf last summer...talk about crazy! But seriously, what kind of friend hits you in the head with a rock?!? Let me just say that we are very loved by some people (note sarcasm). It's just not our fault that they are anti-social/don't want to visit with us!!! Deep down, they really do though. Anyway, we got some cool t-shirts and then Lauren caught another one..."It's mine now!" "I'm getting a dang hot dog" "You need to go on a misson - see what you can get for 50 cents" "Do you have paper and a pen? A napkin and a pencil?" "Can you sing soprano?" "Waaaay over there!!!" "Should I just go stick this in the corner?" "No, throw it like a javelin" "Where's the yellow card, ref?" "In your mouth" Mad props on that one! :D And MeAndLauren's infamous conversations...can't wait to see what happens! "Maybe if I throw a rock on your head..." "We're on a mission - like Mission Impossible" "I'm not goin in there...it's your turn!" "Catch this" "You are the worst ever!" "Hide this so they can't use it!" Good time, as always! And the rain..."We're gonna die!" "Where'd everybody go?"

Woke up glad that it was Friday...running very low on sleep, very low. Geometry - got an 8.5 on my quiz and an A- in the class...absoultely wonderful (again, sarcasm). If there is one thing that I truely wish would be obliterated from the earth, it would be math. Geometry, at least. You know why? I'll save it for the editorial...anyway, Trey and I didn't have to do our skit for drama because some people are stupid and immature and waste a bunch of time, so we didn't have enough class time to perform it. Drove from Simonsen to Wally World cuz G-ma was getting her hair done at Cost Cutters, then drove her to JCMG for physical therapy. After that, we went to Mickey D's and then back to G-ma's. Went home and then just messed around and finally left to go to Lauren's. Talk about a crazy night! "I always get hungry when I get here!" "What's the name of this song?" "I don't know, I just know all the words" And the list goes on and on, but no one would understand any of it, because I don't think we even did! Stayed up really late, and I understand that some very interesting conversations took place that I was unaware of...holy cow.

Went to Co-town and tore up the shopping scene today - hot guys galore! Obviously, my question of the day..."Why don't I have one?" Couldn't find a cute purse to save my soul, and that made me really sad. But I managed to blow $45 bucks, anyway (all I had with me!), so I guess it was productive, and if not that, super fun!

Editorial time! First off, the math thing. I just now realized the reason I loathe math - there is no expression or creativity, no room to be yourself, no gray area. It's just (to all you Trinity kids) "black or white". And that is why I hate it. You are right or wrong. There's no space or freedom, nothing fun or entertaining (that's for sure!). Maybe it's fighting what I hate - the being "wrong" thing, but isn't creativity taking just as big of a chance of being wrong? And not just that, when you're giving out your own actual ideas or thoughts, if you're "wrong", then that seems like it would be harder than just being "black or white" wrong. My thoughts.
I have had more drama in this last month than I have in my entire life. And I hate it. Most people I know thrive off of it. I wish it would die. I guess it keeps things a bit interesting, but I HATE it. It's so stupid - it's just...drama.
I saw this quote and thought, "How awesome is that?" and it goes like this: "The best times are the ones you can't explain, you just had to be there" Most of the time when I try to tell funny stuff that happens, I'm the only one that gets it, and that's the best. :D
I'm too picky...hopefully it will pay off in the end. It's just one of those things that you have to choose one way or the other, and you will never know how the opposite path would have turned out, but you can't waste your life on "what ifs" or you'll miss what's in front of you. Just a personal thing.

"If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling that you'll find love actually is all around"

Give a little bit
Give a little bit of your love to me
Give a little bit
I'll give a little bit of my love to you
See the man with the lonely eyes
Take his hand, you'll be suprised

So I'll give a little bit
I'll give a lttle bit of my life for you
So give a little bit
Give a little bit of your time to me
Now’s the time that we need to share
So send a smile, we’re on our way back home
Don't you need to feel at home

So give a little bit
Give a little bit of your love to me
I'll give a little bit
I'll give a little bit of my life for you
Now's the time we need to share
So send a smile, we're on our way back home
Sing it tonight

Perfect Time of Day

If I do this right, this post should be unbelievably long, but I might get tired or forget stuff, so I guess we'll see...

Last post was on the other one on Monday the 25th - that was a long time ago! Well, that Tuesday MeAndLauren (all one word) :D went to the game in Sedalia and had a rad time as always! "Cookies? I WANT COOKIES!" "I'm not drinking that!" Three words: FRITO CHILI PIE!!! And Katie on the phone, "Let me talk to Amy!!!" "Let's do jumping-jacks" "The bathroom has a heater!" Tampering with the sound system, them having the wrong score and the argument conversation, "We do it, too, and everyone thinks we're serious" "That's how we roll"...too much fun! Can't forget the Hanson song!!! And the only reason we stopped playing 8's was cuz you knew I was coming back!!!
Then, Wednesday was weightlifting - don't remember it and had practice, too.
Yes, Thursday was an awesome day! Had to go to the StuCo meeting after school because I'm at the high school in the mornings, so MeAndLauren went to the meeting, Lauren, my moral support, of course. And then we decided that we were gonna go to Shaka's instead of waiting at Simonsen for Mom, cuz that was gonna get boring and she would just pick us up at Shaka's. Went outside and talked to Syd, and then saw Junior and told him our story!!! Talk about stupid, but, dang, it was fun. Didn't go to weightlifting because of the meeting and then the game was afterwards, but it ended up getting cancelled. So we walked to Shaka's and tried on some very, uh, different clothes. I think my mom and Lauren can attest to that one. Very interesting! Then it was time for my tetnus shot. Talk about enjoyable. "Just look at my beautiful face" "I want a band-aid!" "You need to thank her" "For sticking a needle in my arm? I think NOT!!!" And MeAndLauren definitely got the coolest bling-bling on the planet from the doctor's office, no joke! It didn't fit, but that's beside the point! Went to BK and got some very awesome toys - cranium cadoo. We decided that we're gonna collect them all and then figure out how to play.
Friday we left for Springfield after school at 4:30 and Hope, Abbie, Hope's mom and I all went down together. Had some crazy convos, for sure. Got there and then went to Lambert's, then to the hotel, then back to Lambert's because the rest of the team hadn't gotten there the first time. Let me just say, our waiter had to have been one of the hottest guys I have ever come in contact with, no joke!!! "Hope, his teeth are beautiful!" And Tina's sister was all over him...absolutely hilarious! He was one of those guys that makes you say, "Damn!" I think most of the girls came to the conclusion that he was, um, not straight, but I think otherwise. Next time I go to Lambert's, I'm asking for David, without a doubt! Then we went back to the hotel and I didn't have a swimsuit and was really bummed. But Tina's sister came to the rescue! Abbie, Hope, and me got in the pool then went to the hot tub with Tina, Morgan, Brooke, and Erin. Mimi and Jalin showed up and were insane as usual - those girls are awesome! We finally decided to head up to the room and continued with Hope's very entertaining texts. We ended up trying to watch The Exorcist II but it was so jacked up that we just fell asleep. Woke up way too early and had to have a continental breakfast and ended up almost getting lost. Got there and played, not much to say, really. Except for the last game, Jalin and I were just so totally, well, there's not really a word for it! "No, it's more fun this way" "We should just stay here cuz I don't wanna go back over there!" "GOGGLES, LADIES!!!" Jalin is my homegirl! Then, that pretty much ended our season and we went home. The end.
I just decided on Friday that I was going to run for President, and, as you have read, I was gone all Friday night and all of Saturday, so I got absolutely nothing done. Went to Wally-World on Sunday and bought all kinds of stuff. Ended up staying up till 2:30 AM Sunday night trying to get posters done.
Came home after school on Monday and slept 2 hours. Did Geometry and tried to get more campaign stuff done - another very late night.
Tuesday there was nothing going. Came home and worked on more campaign stuff and did homework - another very late night.
Wednesday came home and tried to get some homework done, but that didn't really work, considering I had to eat and then leave to go to our last practice. Hope...the blanket..."It's been real" "Thanks, Big Boy" :D And we learned that our parents really aren't as good at volleyball as they think they are. I think they have a renewed appreciation for the sport and what we do! Fun season...till next year!!!
Thursday MeAndLauren went to weightlifting which Lauren forced me to go to. Oh, yeah, I didn't mention that Wednesday was another very late night! I was not in the best of moods (an understatement) at all. Everything was going wrong, not even kidding, it was horrific beyond belief. So to those of you who dealt with me on Thursday, my sincerest apologies (especially Lauren and Kelsey), but if you have read the above, maybe you get an idea as to why. Left early so MeAndLauren could go to the game. That's what I love about Lauren...we always have a good time, even if I'm having the crappiest day of my life, it is guaranteed that if we're partners-in-crime, it will always get better. And it did. "Where's the frickin jug at?" I'm only gonna say...black underarmour!! "What are those things for?" "I need your jumping skills" "It's the wind, we can't do anything about it" "It's cuz God hates me" "God does hate you" "WHY?!?" "Run!" "Check out that skill, they need me" "Twice!" And Sam and the rope thing! "Why don't you ever answer us? We really do ask good questions! Maybe you should use this, it's good material. I think if you listened, you'd find it very interesting" "Geometry is STUPID!" "I got some talent carrying all this" And, can't forget, "Weightlifting and then Coke and Pringles?" "That's how we roll!" "I just feel like taking the lid off" That was awesome!
And we arrive at today! This is truly the most relieved I have ever felt in my entire life. Just that election week is over. Some people are nervous now because we don't know the results, but that's not seeming to phase me. I'm just so glad that everything's done and worked out halfway decent. It all started when Peter brought the bike up to the 2nd floor, then had to take it back down to the 1st floor for the skit. When he got it back down to the 1st floor, apparently, he was riding it around the hall and skidding and Mrs. Muenks caught him and told him he was out of the skit. Hope saw it and told me, thank God. I talked to Muenks about it and worked my magic...Peter was back in the skit. Talk about a few seconds of sheer panic, though, not good at all. So, things worked out in the end, I suppose, and no one even remembers what anyone did now anyway, so it's all good.

Here's my editorial and opinion on things: First of all, I love Phil. He is one of the awesomest kids I know. I had never met him before the dress rehersal, and I was mad that the other candidates were treating everyone (including me) really bad. Then I talked to Phil and I was thinking, "If anyone deserves to win, it's him, because he doesn't even know me and we're each other's 'competition' and he's so sweet to me!" So, even if people think he "can't get the job done", I still think he deserves it if he wins, because he is so down to earth and just awesome. If Phil wins, more power to him - he is such great guy and I think all the hype about him was totally deserved.
Piece of advice: if you want to run for an office, plan it out ahead of time. Definitely more than deciding the day the petition has to be turned in...it will make life A LOT easier!
People often say things without thinking, and I am no exception. More and more, I am finding faults with myself, but maybe that makes me appreciate the good qualities more, who knows? I just need to learn to think before I speak...everyone can always improve on that point. Maybe I should become a Monk. ;)
I am thankful for all the people that helped me. Especially my mom, who pretty much did just about everything. And, of course, everyone that helped me pass stuff out, promoted me to their friends, and kept me in a good mood, even though it seemed impossible (that's you L.O. - you're my girl!) And Peter was an awesome campaign manager, especially risking a few days ISS for some of the stuff he did, but the 'danger factor' makes it all the more fun...knowing you can get in trouble, but can weasel your way out of it - he's definitely talented at that. I could not have had anything without everyone's help, and as far as the election results go, well, what happens, happens. I gave it my best shot with one-day notice, did the best I could, and that's all anyone could expect/ask for.
Geometry is, without a doubt, the worst subject in the entire world. There is absoulutely NO point to it AT ALL!!! Stupid Geometric means and volumes and surface areas of pyramids and cones!!! Absolutely pointless!!!
To end on a good note, I'm sleeping in tomorrow and plan to take full advantage of it. And then be a bum all day tomorrow. I think I've deserved it, don't you?
Till next time...

It's the perfect time of day
It's the last day of your life
Don't let it drift away
While your heart is still racing
It's the perfect time of day

Close your eyes and take your last breath
Press your head aside
The end is the beginning
Everyone between is so lost, so lost

Let your colors collide
The time is so fleeting
I quit running behind
Oh, I know your meaning
You look for
For what you want to say
And you look for
The perfect time of day

It's the perfect time of day
Come on now
It's the perfect time of day
